It was sparkling and clear today. The perfect day for a bike tour! Liam was still not feeling great, but faced with the option of staying in the apartment for the day while Greg worked, but not allowed to watch TV or play on the computer - reading only! - decided he had enough energy for the bike tour. Good choice! We made our way by metro to the Tour Eiffel and it was lovely to see the surprise on the kid's faces when we turned the corner ....... and there it was! I took lots of photos of course. Seeing it from our window each day does not decrease my excitement - I just love the Tour Eiffel too :-)
We met up with our guide, Andre, who is Portuguese and was delightful. He made our trip so much fun, not least of which was having the entire group pose as Louis the X1V opposite Les Invalides! Liam perked up as Andre made him his right hand man. The kids loved "dominating" the streets of Paris and the weather, while cold, could not have been nicer. We met a nice bunch of Aussies and Americans. Instead of lunch at the Tuileries Andre suggested we go the Christmas market on the Champs-Elysee. Liam was excited to see an ice skating rink - (but I'm sure it will cost more than the 1 Euro in Dijon!) and I was thrilled to finally see a stall selling Vin Chaud, ie Gluehwein! A large glass warmed me up for the rest of our bike ride! And it was quite palatable which made up for the horrible one I had in Venice. Back at the apartment, we had to admire our view again. Ah, Par-ee!
Loving the arty photos Cathy - the one of Liam watching the painter in the Louvre and the one of Bella looking out the window to the Eiffel Tower are marvellous!
